Sustainability

Our effort.

Prevention is the most environmentally preferable way to reduce waste. We practice reducing or eliminating paper and ink use so that the potential for paper and ink to be used inefficiently or disposed of is prevented in the first place.

Recovery is the practice of collecting paper waste to produce recycled paper. The majority of recovered paper originates from the business and industrial sectors. We are pleased to join local recycling programs at our facilities to accomplish paper recovery.

Five material
and process choices.

Each one reduces impact at a specific point in production.

Paper-Based RFID

A conventional RFID inlay is built on a plastic film substrate. A paper-based inlay replaces that film with paper, so the finished tag can follow the same recovery path as the label, hangtag, or carton it is attached to. Because the substrate is a significant material component of a tag, replacing it with paper can reduce the use of plastic in RFID construction — without changing the chip, the antenna, or the read performance the format is specified for.

Recycled / FSC Paper

Paper selection shapes both the environmental impact and the final appearance of a product. Recycled and FSC-certified paper options help reduce reliance on virgin materials while supporting more responsible forest management. Depending on the required strength, texture, print quality, and finish, the right paper can be selected without compromising the performance expected from a label, hangtag, or package.

Lower-Impact Ink

Ink affects more than color. Its formulation, coverage, and printing method all influence the resources used during production. Where product requirements allow, water-based, vegetable-based, or other lower-impact ink options can reduce the use of conventional petroleum-based materials. Colors and coverage are carefully specified to maintain clarity, consistency, and brand accuracy with less unnecessary ink consumption.

Responsible Coating

Coatings protect printed surfaces and create the finish a product needs, but they can also affect recyclability. By applying coating only where necessary and selecting water-based or recycling-compatible alternatives where possible, durability and visual quality can be balanced with environmental considerations. Each coating is chosen according to the required protection, texture, and end-of-life pathway.

Recycle Program

Sustainability continues after production. A structured recycling program helps collect and separate eligible paper waste, release liners, offcuts, and other production materials before they become general waste. By working with recycling partners and improving material traceability, recoverable resources can be redirected into appropriate recycling streams and production waste can be managed more responsibly.
